OMEGA BOOK WORLD

Privacy policy

Last updated: 23 October 2026

This policy explains how Folioword, operated by Omega Book World at folio.omegabookworld.com, handles information when you create an account, format a publication or use optional AI tools. Contact us at info@omegabookworld.com.

Account information and Google sign-in

Email accounts store your name, email address and a salted password hash on the Folioword server. Plain-text passwords are not stored. When you choose Google sign-in, we request only basic identity permissions: openid, email and profile. We use your name, verified email and Google account identifier to create or authenticate your account. We do not request access to Google Drive, Gmail or documents in your Google account. Google access and ID tokens are used transiently during sign-in, rather than stored as long-term credentials.

Google processes the sign-in under its privacy policy. You can manage third-party connections in your Google account. Removing a Google connection does not itself delete your Folioword account or files saved on your device.

Your manuscripts and designs

Document importing, manual formatting, cover editing, dictionary-based spelling checks and PDF, Word and EPUB generation run in your browser. Selecting a manuscript for these tools does not upload it to Omega for publication. Browser recovery copies may contain text, images, notes, designs and project settings, and are stored on the device and browser you use. Accounts separate recovery workspaces, but browser storage is not an encrypted document vault. Downloaded projects and exports remain under your control.

Optional server document processing. On supported deployments, you can select server processing before uploading a Word file. This sends that selected DOCX, including its text, images and notes, to the server hosting your Folioword installation for Python inspection and rich-content conversion. The application processes it through memory and private process pipes, does not create persistent upload files or a cloud project for this action, and does not send it to an AI provider. Browser processing remains the default. Cloud saving is a separate explicit action.
Optional AI uses the Folioword server. When you explicitly request AI analysis, adaptation or cover suggestions, the selected text or prompt is sent to the server hosting your current Folioword installation. In a local installation, that server runs on your computer. On a hosted website, it runs on the hosting server. The model runs offline there; these requests are not sent to an external AI provider by the application. The application does not persist AI request text in its account database or use your manuscripts to train a model.

Session activity and workspace position

Sign-in expires after eight hours without interaction. The server stores a last-activity timestamp; background polling does not count as activity. The browser stores an account-scoped activity timestamp to coordinate open tabs, a first-tour preference, and the current local project identifier and editing step so refresh can return to your workspace. These preferences do not contain manuscript text.

Trials and subscriptions

We store your trial start time, subscription identifiers, publication format, subscription status and paid access period to manage access. If you choose a paid subscription, Razorpay handles checkout and payment information under its own privacy policy. Folioword does not store card numbers or security codes and does not send manuscript content to Razorpay. Opening a subscription checkout creates a provider subscription only when you request it; a trial does not require card details.

Optional cloud projects

When cloud storage is configured, you can explicitly choose Save to cloud. This uploads your project text, images, notes, styles and settings to private server storage associated with your account. Cloud saves are losslessly compressed, limited to 10 MB compressed and 40 MB expanded for safe processing. Cloud projects and version history are stored in MySQL; separately uploaded assets use private server storage and authenticated delivery. They are not published or submitted to a publisher. Local autosave does not automatically become cloud autosave. Up to 20 saved project versions are kept, and older versions can be removed as newer versions are saved. Projects moved to Trash remain stored and still use quota. You can restore them or permanently delete them and their saved versions after confirming the project name. Account deletion requests can also be sent to support. Cloud access depends on your account; download backups before deleting your account.

Why information is processed

We use account information to provide sign-in, maintain sessions and associate your browser recovery workspace with your account. Manuscript content is processed to perform the editing, export or optional AI action you request. Technical request information, such as IP addresses and request headers, is processed to operate the server, limit abusive requests and protect accounts. A hosting provider may also process technical logs according to its configuration.

Cookies and browser storage

The application uses an essential session cookie lasting up to seven days and a temporary Google sign-in cookie lasting up to five minutes. Signing out revokes your current session. Browser recovery storage retains local project copies until replaced or cleared. The application does not include advertising trackers or analytics cookies. Google may use its own cookies when you visit its sign-in pages.

Sharing and security

We do not sell your personal information or manuscripts. Google receives the information necessary for Google authentication. If you use a hosted installation, infrastructure providers process information needed to host and secure it. Information may also be disclosed where required by applicable law. The application uses hashed passwords, server-side session verification and secure cookies on HTTPS installations. No service can guarantee complete security; keep backups and avoid leaving signed-in accounts on shared devices.

Retention and your choices

Account records remain on the installation until removed. Session records expire, and expired records are cleaned during subsequent sign-ins. Temporary Google sign-in state expires after five minutes. For account access, correction or deletion requests, email info@omegabookworld.com from your account address. We may need to verify your identity before acting. Applicable law may require some records to be retained.

You can clear local recovery copies using your browser's site-data controls; this can also sign you out. Deleting an account does not remotely erase your browser storage, downloaded projects, exports or backups. Save work you wish to keep before clearing site data. A local installation's operator controls its server database and backups.

Changes and contact

Material changes will be reflected in this policy and its update date. For privacy questions or requests concerning rights available under applicable law, contact Omega Book World at info@omegabookworld.com.

Role plans and checkout

Author, Designer and Publisher subscriptions include Book, Thesis, Journal and Thesis to Book tools. The seven-day trial exports the first ten preview pages. Full editable recovery backups remain available after trial expiry. Monthly prices are 20% below the listed monthly price; annual prices are 30% below twelve listed monthly payments. Discounts are not stacked. Review the exact amount, currency and interval before payment.

Live checkout is available after the operator configures matching Razorpay plans. Access requires verified paid status. Upgrades and downgrades are scheduled for the next billing cycle without an immediate proration request. Cancelling renewal retains paid access through its verified expiry. Existing subscriptions retain their agreed prices; cancel overlapping renewals before buying another plan. Razorpay handles payment details. Manuscripts are not sent to Razorpay. Official GST tax invoices require approved tax configuration.

Private proofreading and project ZIPs

Cloud project versions are compressed Word project ZIPs, including editable design data and original import content snapshots for comparison and reliable restoration. Snapshots are limited to 10 MB compressed and 40 MB expanded; current account storage is 100 MB. Paid Word downloads include a combined DOCX and separate chapter DOCX files. Trial and expired-account recovery ZIPs preserve the full project but do not grant unrestricted DOCX export.

When an owner assigns a proofreader, Folioword stores a private review snapshot and shares it only with the signed-in account matching the assigned email address. No automatic invitation email is sent. Suggested wording and comments are stored on the server. Only the owner can accept a correction into a new cloud version; open local drafts are not replaced automatically. Owners can revoke access, which clears the stored review snapshot and suggestions. Contact info@omegabookworld.com for account or review data deletion requests.

Browser access

Folioword currently runs in a web browser on a tablet or desktop computer. Desktop app installation and updates are paused. Previously installed web-app code caches may be removed; account records, local manuscript storage and downloaded backups are not deleted by this change.

Separate EPUB conversion

New plans charge ₹99 per project for EPUB conversion, separately from subscription charges. There is no free monthly EPUB allowance. Repeat exports of the same paid project are included. This conversion does not remove the ten-page trial limit or replace a subscription. Existing subscription inclusions are preserved. Payment takes place on a hosted Razorpay page; no manuscript text is sent to Razorpay. We store the anonymous project reference, provider payment reference, amount and unlock status. Payment is verified as captured before access is granted, and refunded payments do not retain their paid conversion grant. A failed local generation can be retried for the same paid project without another conversion charge.
